Via Think Progress: McCain campaign manager Rick Davis, appearing on Bill Bennett's radio show, "claimed that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin drives 'liberal feminists' crazy because 'she’s a conservative Republican' who is 'raising five kids' on the state's dime, and then fudging the books while serving as governor." Bennett then took the ball and ran:
Let me give you three things that I think drives them crazy, and you don't have to comment. That's she's very attractive. That she's very competent or that she's very happy.
Attractive to cynics? Check. Competent at rootin' tootin' doublespeak? Check. Happy to live a lie, this nation be damned? Check. On this, Mr. Bennett, I believe you and I agree.
