Joyce Millman, Senior Editor/Television was raised outside of Boston, Mass., and began her career as a pop music critic for the weekly newspaper the Boston Phoenix; eventually, she also became the paper's TV critic. In 1987, she moved to the Bay Area and became the TV critic for the San Francisco Examiner. During her eight years at the Examiner, she was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Criticism twice, in 1989 and 1991. In addition to being Salon's television critic, Millman compiles the magazine's daily TV listing, Blue Glow, is a regular contributor to the Mothers Who Think section and has written essays about Burt Bacharach, mail-order food, the NBA, figure skating and O.J. Simpson, among other subjects. She lives in a cozy little house on a quiet little street with her husband, their son and a few pet fish. - - - - - - - - - - - -
