Losing the battle for Britney: Madame Tussaud's has just released a new wax sculpture of Britney Spears, and the likeness is somehow meant to call to mind the glory days of her pop-music career: Hanging upside down from what looks like a stripper pole, the wax Spears comes complete with animatronic breasts that heave, giving off the impression she's actually breathing. Adding to the creepiness, fans (or just Madame Tussaud's marketers) have launched an online campaign to bring back Britney -- it joins the recently launched Save Sean Preston site -- by circulating a petition to somehow "save Britney ... from herself, from her husband and from her relentless fertility." Lohan gets her apology, sorta: Oil heir Brandon Davis has finally publicly apologized for all the awful things he said about Lindsay Lohan to paparazzi video cameras outside a club in Los Angeles last week, but his statement seems stiff and insincere compared with the fluid vitriol of the original outburst. "My behavior on May 16 was inexcusable," Davis says in the statement. "What started out as a joke got completely carried away and I am horrified at the words that came out of my mouth. I consider Lindsay a friend and I hope she accepts my sincere apology for my reprehensible actions last week." (Page Six)
Leto's so-called coming out: In an AOL IM interview yesterday that was ostensibly about his band, 30 Seconds to Mars, Jared Leto coyly teased with the gay rumor.
