Malcolm has to go to work for an ill-tempered senior citizen as punishment for accidentally breaking her arm on a rerun of Malcolm in the Middle (8 p.m., Fox). Dawson's Creek (8 p.m., WB) repeats the one where Pacey reacts strangely to his impending birthday. On a rerun of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (9 p.m., WB), Uncle Spike comes to the rescue when Dawn freaks out over learning that she's the Key. The new drama series The Beast (10 p.m., ABC) premieres. Frank Langella stars as a Murdochian media magnate who runs a sensationalistic 24-hour cable news network and also feels the need to put his staff on a round-the-clock webcam.
